EarthWize delivers industry-leading tank cleaning through No Man Entry technology, advanced robotics, and the Mobile Liquification Unit — protecting workers, reducing downtime, and ensuring full environmental compliance.
EarthWize's tank cleaning division represents the leading edge of environmental technology in South Africa. Our approach eliminates the risks associated with confined space entry while delivering superior cleaning results — faster, safer, and more cost-effective than traditional methods.
Operating across petroleum storage facilities, refineries, chemical plants, and mining sites, our team deploys a suite of specialised equipment matched to each tank's specific requirements — from light fuel tanks to heavy bitumen storage.
Our proprietary No Man Entry tank cleaning system eliminates the need for personnel to enter confined, hazardous tank spaces. A 360° rotating cleaning nozzle is lowered through the standard manhole, delivering high-pressure cleaning fluid to every surface of the tank interior.
EarthWize operates one of the most advanced robotic tank cleaning systems in South Africa. Fully automated and remotely operated, our robotic system delivers consistent, high-standard cleaning results across the entire tank interior — without a single person entering the confined space.
The robotic platform navigates tank floors, walls, and hard-to-reach areas, applying precisely controlled cleaning pressure while simultaneously extracting residual product and waste material.
100% remotely operated — zero confined space risk for personnel.
Faster cycle times and reduced tank downtime versus manual cleaning.
Consistent, repeatable cleaning quality across every surface.
Integrated waste capture minimises environmental contamination.
First-in-class capability for the South African industrial market.
For tanks containing heavy, congealed sludge that cannot be removed by conventional cleaning methods, EarthWize deploys the Hughes HPS 3000 Mobile Liquification Unit — a purpose-built system for mobilising and extracting even the most viscous hydrocarbon residues.
Mounted on a heavy-duty trailer for full mobility, the unit uses a combination of heat and high-pressure rotating/mixing nozzles to re-liquefy solidified tank bottoms, enabling complete extraction and recovery of residual product.
Before and after every tank cleaning operation, EarthWize conducts a full internal inspection using our ATEX Zone 0 certified camera system. This allows our team to accurately assess tank condition, identify areas requiring special attention, and verify cleaning completion — all without entering the tank.
The EX-rated camera system is equally suited to pipeline inspection, offering horizontal and vertical deployment with full LED illumination and real-time pressure and temperature monitoring.
